Jan Bruegel, known as Bruegel de Velours, was a Flemish Baroque painter born in 1568 and died in 1625 in Antwerp. He is the youngest son of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. This painting which represents musical instruments is a detail of a large canvas called The Sense of Hearing made with Peter Paul Rubens between 1617 and 1618. It is exhibited at the Prado Museum in Madrid.
